Making love from behind, my thighs clap against yours

Oh my love
my clapping snapping love
oh my love
my birth of music love
oh my love
oh my love
oh my love
oh my love
making love from behind
my thighs clap against yours
I am taken into the ancient past my love
and music is born
back in my body I hear it with joy my love
with surprise my lover
I am in and out at once
in you in her in the ancient past in my body
oh my love
she sings to us my love
as we make love
as we worship her my lover
I come in and out deeper and further my love
and the claps get louder
I pull out more quickly from the deepest place
and the claps get sharper
oh my love
and you start to sing my love
your voice gets higher
a tremolo
warbling like the honey dawn
wavering like the rivers flow
and the claps get deeper my love
they turn to drumming my love
and as we get wet with sweat
and melt as one my love
and go deeper and deeper my lover
we stick together for a moment
each time
and coming apart
we make a snapping noise
or my love
she snaps her fingers above my love
each time I come up into you
as far as we can fly my lover
or both at once my love
but whatever makes it
now my love
there is a clap and a snap
a rhythm is born
staccato
and it echoes upwards my love
downwards my lover
and we fly on the drumming
we soar on the rhythms
swirl on her heartbeat
and I enter you so deeply my love
I leave on the drumming
I am high in the clouds
up in the nighttime sky my love
far up into your dreaming
far up into her immense body my lover
oh my love
and you sing higher and higher
your warble faster and more intense
the sound of the universe being conceived my love
and the drumming gets faster
and louder
and we go up into the music
and through it
into her body
and then her dream
and then her singing
and then her rest
and then through her
into the peace that surpathest understanding
and that is the before

oh my love
and in the after
and I kiss you all over
tiny kisses like raindrops
from her onto each place on earth
where they land with reverence
and joy to have found you
I kiss
your eyelids your mouth
your back wet with lovemaking
tiny kisses each a blessing
and you sing to me
“oh my love
you play me my love
like an instrument
you make me sing
you make the first music
oh my lover
you do”
and I sing to you my love
playing you is my deepest love
my joy my birthright
all I ever wanted to do
was make her sing
so her song would be heard on earth my love
making you sing my lover
and playing you takes practice
there are intricacies
subtleties
so I pay attention
and learn
it is hard and the easiest thing I do at once
and I take my guidance from your song my love
and her music my lover
as it comes from your body
and from hers
as we make sweet love

and now writing this poem
the hawk calls at dawn
she says
awaken
he flies across the valley in a flash
on golden wings
feathers open orange gray brown
stripes flashing
he lands on her
they both disappear
and make love faster than we can see
and he flies off
in pure white light
and she rests
gasp
things faster
than we can see
are her love
and creation
oh my lover
we are.
